About David Motsinger

I am a serial entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience building technology products and companies.

Currently, I am the Managing Partner and Co-founder of Oak City Foundry, a privately held entrepreneurial partnership that guides and cultivates a wide range of technology projects. Oak City Foundry’s mission is to develop products that empower people and companies to be better and more efficient at whatever they do.

Previously I was the CTO of Broadvine, a hospitality technology company that provides a suite of SaaS applications for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and expense management.

Before Broadvine, I ran the technology team at WebAssign as their CTO. I directed the cloud-based technology strategy, application development and infrastructure for WebAssign’s online instructional tools.

Prior to WebAssign, I was the CTO at StrikeIron, leading the cloud computing technology team responsible for the design, development, deployment and support of StrikeIron’s cloud based Data-as-a-Service platform, products, software systems, data centers and IT infrastructure. StrikeIron was acquired by Informatica.

I am active in the entrepreneurial community. I co-founded and served as the CTO of Covelight Systems, a security technology company that we sold to Radware in 2007. Prior to co-founding Covelight, he co-founded and was the CEO of GadgetSpace, a wireless application infrastructure company started in 1999 and that we sold to InPhonic in 2001. I also co-founded and served on the board of Field2Base, a mobile data capture & delivery company. I was the Director of Business Development for HAHT Software, the Director of Software Development for Relativity Technologies, held senior software engineering positions at Versata and developed software for Q+E Software that was included in several Microsoft Office products.

I also invest in non-technology ventures as well: Social House Vodka, Piedmont Restaurant and Zely & Ritz.
